Steven Krane, Co-founder & President

Steven Krane is a career entrepreneur. For the past 7 years, Mr. Krane has worked extensively in the direct response television industry including HSN where he has been responsible for selling more than a thousand new products with a long list of clients such as Carol Alt, Genevieve Gorder, Bob Greene, Rudy Maxa, Simmons Bedding, Jiffy Steamer and many more.

From 1998-2001, Mr. Krane co-founded GreatMeals, Inc., an internet marketer of gourmet foods and desserts. From 1996 -1998 Mr. Krane was co-founder of The Daily Market, an upscale chain of prepared meal stores located in Washington, D.C. From and Stockwell's Home Meal Market Inc., the country’s first frozen meal store. From 1988 - 1996, Mr. Krane founded and was President of Horizon Meat & Seafood of Virginia, Inc. Horizon marketed top-restaurant quality frozen foods directly to the home consumer. In High School, as a budding entrepreneur, Mr. Krane founded Pronto Coffee Service which he sold upon graduating university in 1987.

Mr. Krane is past President of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Carol Alt, Co-founder, Spokesperson & Raw Guru

Carol Alt has been called "The Face" by Life Magazine and will be forever touted as "The model that started the Supermodel trend" by John Casablanca - owner of Elite Models. Since her days as the world’s most renowned Supermodel, Carol Alt has gone on to become a successful author, actress and entrepreneur.

Carol Alt She has graced the covers of over 700 magazines, posters, calendars and videos and landed on the cover of the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition two times. In addition, she has starred in over 65 movies, miniseries, television shows and has been a sought after pitchwoman for a diverse range of products from Cover Girl, Lancome, Hanes and most recently, Jack LaLane’s Power Juicer Elite.

Ms. Alt has recently expanded her passion and expertise by educating hundreds of thousands of people worldwide about the benefits of a raw lifestyle. In doing so, Ms. Alt has become a sought after raw nutrition expert and recently become a best-selling author with her books Eating in the Raw and The Raw 50, in which she presents practical information and recipe for the raw lifestyle.

At RAW Essentials, Ms. Alt wears many hats including co-founder, spokesperson and overseeing product development.

Philip Masiello, COO (Chief Operations Officer)

Prior to his involvement with RAW Essentials, Mr. Masiello was the EVP of Metro Marketing, a Charlotte, NC based sales, marketing and merchandising company where Mr. Masiello was instrumental in the development of new lines and initiatives. Prior to Metro, Mr. Masiello was VP of Sales and Marketing for Quick Chek Food Stores and was instrumental in the re-branding of Quick Chek Food stores, from a typical convenience model to a food service provider. Prior to this, Mr. Masiello was the VP of Fresh Foods at Harris Teeter Supermarkets where he led the team who turned around the money losing Prepared Foods area, by focusing on delivering high quality meals, while streamlining the supply chain processes.

Mr. Masiello co-founded the Daily Market, a unique supply chain operations model focused on delivering high quality meals with daily fresh deliveries. Mr. Masiello was also a Vice President of Sutton Place Gourmet, a Washington, DC based chain of specialty food stores operating a high service, high quality food retail model.

Mr. Masiello holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Maryland. In addition, Mr. Masiello is involved in several industry groups focused on the retail business channel and retail supply chain.
